BottleRock Napa Valley, Like A Day At The Fair
NAPA (CBS SF) - So far the BottleRock music festival in Napa has been like a day at the fair, Napa police Capt. Jeff Troendly said.
There is traffic as expected and the crowd for Friday is estimated between 10,000 and 15,000, about what you'd expect at the Napa Valley Town and Country Fair in the summer, Troendly said.
More people are expected Friday evening and through the weekend as more big-name acts perform on three stages at the Napa Valley Expo on Third Street in downtown Napa.

Troendly said police are planning on a crowd of about 35,000 on Saturday. Ticket sales today are estimated at 20,000-25,000, Troendly said. There were two arrests Thursday for ticket scalping and there have been some arrests as expected for disorderly conduct due to intoxication, minors consuming alcohol and minor altercations, Troendly said.
"We're standing pat on out security plans," Troendly said. There was confusion on the first full day of the festival Thursday whether anyone who left the fairgrounds would be allowed back in or if only locals and VIPs would be readmitted.
BottleRock organizers revised the policy to allow "ins and outs" up until 8 p.m., but you must have your ticket scanned upon leaving to be allowed back in.
The music performances are scheduled to end around 10 p.m. Troendly said that's one of the crunch times for foot and vehicle traffic.
The festival is not your parents' or grandparents' Woodstock. There has been no shortage of Tweets about the bands, restaurants, food, wines, meeting places, weather and ambiance at BottleRock.
Performances for this afternoon and Friday evening include Alabama Shakes at 4 p.m., The Shins at 6 p.m. and The Black Keys at 8:30 p.m.
