Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation Of Oakland Cerebral Palsy Center
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Police have given the all-clear after a bomb threat forced the evacuation of dozens of people at the Cerebral Palsy Center for the Bay Area in Oakland Thursday morning, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a bomb threat at the center at 4500 Lincoln Ave. at about 9:05 a.m., Officer Johnna Watson said. The threat had been called in to the center by phone.
Officers evacuated roughly 40 people and conducted a search of the building and surrounding areas, but did not find anything, Watson said.
The building has been deemed safe and those evacuated have been allowed back inside. The county bomb squad was not called to the scene, Watson said.
