San Rafael's Terra Linda High School Reopened After Bomb Scare
SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) - A report of a bomb in a bathroom at Terra Linda High School in San Rafael prompted the evacuation of the school for more than two hours Thursday, police said.
School officials notified authorities around 9:15 a.m. that someone had called in a bomb threat on the campus at 320 Nova Albion Way and that the caller sounded like a disguised male voice, according to police.
Officers responded and immediately evacuated the school while requesting the assistance of a bomb-sniffing dog.
While students were cleared to the school's football field, a search of the campus ensued and no device was found, prompting police to give the all-clear at 11:45 a.m.
Police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said some officers remained on campus until students were done with class for the day at 2:15 p.m.
As an additional precaution, all after-school programs were also canceled for the day, Rohrbacher said.
No suspects had been identified in the incident as of Thursday afternoon.
