Body Of Missing San Jose Woman Found

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near San Jose after she was reported missing on Sunday as a homicide.

Valerie Calderon Casillas, 28, was found dead around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday by a road worker in the area of Sierra Road and Skyview Drive in unincorporated Santa Clara County.

Detectives believe Casillas was murdered, but have not yet determined the circumstances and motive for her death.

She was last seen entering either a silver Pontiac Grand Prix or a blue Chevrolet Tahoe SUV around 3 a.m. Sunday near Waverly Avenue and Orlando Drive.

She was reported missing later that day around 7:15 p.m., police said.

Her disappearance was investigated as suspicious.

Casillas' murder marks San Jose's 32nd homicide of the year.
