Body Found Near West Marin State Park
SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) -- The Marin County Sheriff's Office and the National Park Service are investigating the discovery of a body off Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in west Marin County Thursday morning.
Marin County Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Giannini said crews responded to the report around 10 a.m. and the investigation was turned over to the sheriff's office.
The body was found east of Olema, Giannini said.
An employee who answered the phone at Samuel P. Taylor State Park located at 8889 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in Lagunitas 15 miles west of San Rafael said the body was found outside park boundaries.
Marin County coroner's office Lt. Keith Boyd said the National Park Service is investigating the death.
National Park Service spokesman John Dell'Osso said he is waiting for more information about the incident.
