Body Found In Water Near SF's Hyde Street Pier
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A body was recovered from the water at the end of the Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco Mondaymorning, a police spokesman said.
The incident was reported at 11:37 a.m. and the medical examiner was called to the scene, Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The person was found deceased underneath the Eureka ferryboat, a fire dispatcher said. The Eureka is a 300-foot steamboat built in 1890 that is docked in San Francisco, according to the National Park Service's website.
Police, fire department personnel and U.S. Park Police were at the scene investigating, Shyy said.
