Bird Strike Forces Landing At San Jose Mineta Airport
SAN JOSE (KCBS) — A passenger airplane at Mineta San Jose International Airport had to abort its take off on Wednesday morning after striking a bird on the runway.
An airport spokeswoman told KCBS that a Southwest plane destined for Seattle hit a "single" bird on the runway some time during the hour after 7 a.m.
The plane subsequently returned to the gate and the passengers were being transferred to another plane and will continue on to Seattle as soon as possible, the spokeswoman said.
