Big-Rig Carrying Cardboard Overturns On Highway 152 Near Gilroy
GILROY (CBS SF) -- A semi-truck pulling two trailers filled with 21,000 pounds of cardboard and wooden pallets overturned on state Highway 152 Tuesday afternoon.
The man driving the truck may have fallen asleep at the wheel, but emerged from the truck able to walk, despite minor injuries, California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
Traffic traveling in both directions near Frazer Lake Road on Highway 152 was stopped around 2:35 p.m. The lanes are expected to reopen this evening, Bartlett said.
All traffic has been rerouted while the lanes are being cleared.
Westbound traffic will continue onto Ferguson Road, which turns into Leavesley Road, while eastbound traffic will head south onto Frazer Lake Road, CHP Officer Michael Sakamoto said.
