'Big Bang' Cast And Crew Mourn The Death Of Carol Ann Susi, Voice Of Mrs. Wolowitz
A memorable voice heard on CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" has been silenced by cancer. Carol Ann Susi, who is best known for her role as Mrs. Wolowitz, died Tuesday, November 11 of an aggressive form of cancer at the age of 62.
Born in Brooklyn and educated in acting in New York, Susi also appeared in "Seinfeld" in the memorable episode chronicling George's bad date, "Cheers," "Mad About You," "Doogie Howser, M.D." and "Six Feet Under."
Her colleagues on the cast and crew of the CBS show expressed their grief on Twitter and Instagram posting photos and their memories of the beloved actress.
She never appeared on-screen on "The Big Bang Theory", but her booming voice was a significant presence and it will leave a void as the show's story continues. It's known that Melissa Rauch, who plays Howard Wolowitz' wife Bernadette, does a spot-on impression of Mrs. Wolowitz. Seems like a fitting stand-in.
