BET Trolls The Billboard Music Awards' Prince Tribute
By Ned Ehrbar
(CBS NEWS) – Madonna might have thought her Prince tribute was an "amazing moment," but BET thinks audiences deserve better.
The Material Girl closed out Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards with a tribute to the late "Purple Rain" artist that included a duet with Stevie Wonder. The crowd in attendance seemed to love it, but not everyone was moved.
Not long after the performance aired, the folks behind the BET Music Awards -- which air June 26 -- had a brand-new ad online with a winking reference to the tribute. "Yeah, we saw that," the text read. "Don't worry. We got you."
