Burlingame's GoKart Racer is the Peninsula's premier locally-owned go kart facility. The business strives to be eco-friendly and has converted all of its go karts to run on green bio fuel. Licensed drivers over 18 will enjoy minimal racing wait times for GoKart Racer's two indoor tracks. Unlicensed drivers or those under age 18 are permitted to drive junior or kid go karts on a designated track. The business is committed to providing a safe and fun experience, and all necessary equipment, including helmets and racing suits are provided. Adult racing sessions start at $25, and $5 discounted happy hour pricing is available for sessions completed before 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The facility also offers special corporate event pricing, as well as both children and adult parties. For post-race fun, check out the café, arcade, laser maze or pool tables.

LeMans Karting, located roughly 30 miles from the Peninsula in Fremont, is home to a recently remodeled indoor-only go kart racing track. Much like the karts at GoKart Racer, LeMans' karts run on eco-friendly E85 bio fuel. The expert-designed track is wide enough to accommodate up to 10 racers at a time. Open race packages for licensed drivers over 18 start at just $20. Accommodations and packages are available for private parties and corporate events up to 200 people. Kids ages eight to 10 can join in the fun by participating in the Cadet Kart Driving Program, which includes driving and safety instruction as well as on-track drive time. A bit further from the Peninsula, Livermore's Umigo Indoor Kart Racing is worth the drive with 30 different track configurations rotating every two to three weeks. Umigo is the perfect spot for first time racers looking to learn the ropes of go karting. This family-owned business, while firmly dedicated to the safety of its drivers, offers a less regimented karting experience without artificial regulations and speed controls. Like most facilities, all licensed drivers age 18 and up are welcome to race. Kids 10 and up may also race on the track with a signed liability release and staff certification. All drivers must be at least 58" tall. Adult sessions start at $25, and special pricing is available for students and youth. Group sizes up to 450 people can be accommodated for parties and events, and all event packages can be fully customized. For a truly memorable celebration, check out the Race N' Taste package that includes not only an hour-long racing session, but wine tastings at several Livermore wineries, lunch, and chartered transportation.
