Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton Host Concerts On Eve Of California Primary
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are busy hosting musical guests at separate rallies in California.
But amid the musical performances, the Associated Press is reporting that Clinton will become the first woman to top the presidential ticket of a major U.S. political party. The Associated Press is reporting that Clinton captured commitments Monday from the number of delegates needed to become the Democrats' presumptive nominee.
The Associated Press is reporting that President Obama is getting ready to endorse Clinton and that the president will start to aggressively make the case against Donald Trump.
Pollsters estimate that about two-thirds of Californians have already voted early, but that's not stopping the Clinton and Sanders campaigns from going after every remaining vote.
And a little music can't hurt.
A get out the vote rally for Bernie Sanders, one of his final campaign stops in California is taking place at San Francisco's Crissy Field Monday evening.
It could be one of the last of the campaign, as Hillary Clinton will very likely secure the Democratic nomination Tuesday night when California and five other states hold their primary elections.
Sanders has spent quite a bit of time the last week barnstorming across the Bay Area. Earlier on Monday, he was in Emeryville and now he is in San Francisco.
A short while ago at City College of San Francisco, Sanders explained why he is paying so much attention to California:
"If there is a large voter turnout, we are going to win here in California. If there is a very large turnout, we're going to win by a big number...And I also have to tell you: if there is a low voter turnout...We're going to lose. That's' the way it is."
Sanders musical line-up includes Dave Matthews, Fishbone and the Bay Area musician known as Fantastic Negrito.
Hillary Clinton is holding a musical rally Monday night in Los Angeles, also with star-power.
Clinton will appear with Christina Aguilera, Andra Day, John Legend, Ricky Martin, and Stevie Wonder.
