Benicia Man Accused Of Molesting Girlfriend's Daughter

BENICIA (BCN) - A man was arrested on Sunday after his girlfriend's young daughter accused him of sexually molesting her, Benicia police said.

The victim's mother, a Benicia resident, called police around 8 a.m. Sunday to tell them her 7-year-old daughter had just told her that the woman's live-in boyfriend had touched her inappropriately earlier that morning, police said.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Chelsea Hills Drive in Benicia and stopped the boyfriend, 40-year-old Benicia resident Nestor James Garcia, as he was preparing to leave the house, police said.

After interviewing the mother and daughter, police arrested Garcia, the Benicia Police Department reported.

The department is still actively investigating and seeking evidence regarding allegations that Garcia showed his girlfriend's daughter pornography and then forced her to engage in a sex act with him, police said.

Garcia was booked into Solano County Jail in Fairfield on felony charges of performing a lewd act with a child, exhibiting lewd material to a child, oral copulation with a person under 14 years of age, and being a person over the age of 18 engaging in oral copulation with a child under the age of 10, police said.

After police secured a bail enhancement, the suspect's bail was set at $200,000, police said.

"This is a very sensitive case," Benicia police Lt. Mike Daley said in a statement. "Our responding officers and a detective who was called to help are working to protect the family as this investigation continues."
