Belmont Jewelry Shop Robbed
BELMONT (CBS SF) -- Police were investigating the burglary of a jewelry store in Belmont on Sunday evening.
At about 8:25 p.m., Belmont police responded to an alarm activation at a jewelry shop in the 1000 block of El Camino Real, several blocks from the Caltrain station.
Officers found the front door forced open and a shattered display case. Jewelry had been taken from the store, police said.
Police searched the area, but did not locate any suspects.
According to police, the suspect or suspects also unsuccessfully attempted to burglarize a neighboring hair salon.
