Original 1964 Interview: KCBS' Hilly Rose Sneaks In To Talk With Beatles
Fifty years ago this week, the Bay Area was fully in the grasp of the social phenomenon known as "Beatlemania." On August 18, 1964, the Fab Four arrived in San Francisco to play the Cow Palace, starting their first-ever true North American tour, playing 30 concerts in 23 cities. They returned two years later to play their final concert at Candlestick Park, ending their touring career forever in the same city.
