Beaten Giants Fan Emerging From Coma
LOS ANGELES (CBS 5) -- Doctors were in the process of taking Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants Fan beaten outside Dodger Stadium, out of his medically-induced coma, family members told CBS on Thursday.
Doctors at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center placed the 42-year-old Stow, from Santa Cruz, in a coma over a week ago after he was beaten and critically injured while wearing rival Giants gear in a stadium parking lot after a game.
KCBS' Chris Filippi Reports:
Cousin John Stow said Bryan was being weaned off sedatives and the family was just waiting now for Bryan to wake up and open his eyes.

Hospital publicist Rosa Saca confirmed that Stow's doctors were in the process of reducing the medication given to keep him in a coma. But she said doctors didn't think they would know how Stow's body would respond for a few more days.
Stow remained listed in very guarded, critical condition at the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
The paramedic and father of two young children has not been conscious since he suffered massive head injuries during the beating after the Dodgers' opener March 31.
Doctors previously indicated that Stow showed signs of brain damage due to being punched and kicked repeatedly in the head.
Police were still looking for Stow's assailants, despite a $150,000 reward and sketches of the suspects, who wore Los Angeles Dodgers attire.
