Bay Point Residents To Get Refund From Water Company
BAY POINT (CBS / AP) -- State regulators have fined a California water company $1 million and ordered $9.5 million in refunds to customers who were overcharged by the utility.
The bulk of refunds will go to customers of San Dimas-based Golden State Water Co. in Bay Point, Clearlake and Sacramento.
The San Luis Obispo County Tribune said Golden State Water, which serves nearly two dozen communities in the state, overcharged its customers because of a lack of management oversight.
The California Public Utilities Commission ordered the fine and refunds last week.
