Bay Area Tech Firms Among Glassdoor's Best Places To Work, Twitter No. 2
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — A popular job and career website has placed several prominent Bay Area companies among its list of 50 best places to work in the United States, with three tech companies in the top five.
According to the sixth annual Best Places to Work list by Glassdoor, Twitter is the number two place to work in the country, followed by LinkedIn at number three. Number five on the list is social media giant Facebook, which was ranked number one last year.

Glassdoor CEO Robert Hohman said perks such as free food, fitness centers and laundry services are not the only reason why the companies on the list are deemed great places to work.
"At the end of the day, the ability for employees to grow and to work in an amazing culture is definitely what keeps them excited about a workplace," he said.
Glassdoor's list was put together based on 600,000 surveys filled out by visitors to its website.
A total of 14 Bay Area companies are on the Glassdoor list. Google, Chevron, Riverbed, Solar City, Intuit and Genentech are in the top 25. Other companies on the list include Intel, Apple, NetApp, eBay and Salesforce.
Bain and Company, a Boston-based business consulting firm, was rated the best place to work.
