Bay Area Police Join To Collect Unused Prescription Drugs
Americans everywhere have been asked to carve out some time this weekend to clean out their medicine cabinets. Bay Area police stations are standing by Saturday to accept unwanted prescription drugs.
KCBS Janice Wright Reporting:
The Drug Enforcement Administration organized the event to prevent unused medicine from winding up flushed into the Bay, or worse yet, in the hands of curious teenagers.
"Kids know a lot about each of these substances, what it will do to them. There's a lot of information online about what the effects are when you combine them with alcohol or other substances," said Marcia Lee Taylor, with the Partnership for a Drug Free America.
