Bay Area Leaders Part of Time's Most Influential
(CBS) - A number of entertainers and even some British royalty made this year's Time magazine list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Among the polititians, entrepreneurs and athletes are names like Justin Bieber, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Colfer, Blake Lively, Amy Poehler, Mark Wahlberg, Bruno Mars and Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Here's what other's had to say of some of the Bay Area Representatives:
Here's what others had to say about some of Time Magazine's Most Influential:
-Usher on Justin Bieber: "He was born a star. He knew what he wanted to accomplish; all he had to do was get everyone else to believe it."
-Helen Mirren on Colin Firth: "There are two Colin Firths, who live symbiotically within each other. First is a man of principle, action and compassion, who fights for the powerless. Second is a beloved actor in Britain and an international film star."
-Aziz Ansari on Amy Poehler: " I cannot say how much I admire and respect Amy Poehler. In comedy, a lot of what you see feels derivative and uninspired; with Amy, 39, there is always something fresh and unexpected, and that's why I love her work."
-Dianna Agron on Chris Colfer: "Chris, 20, lives by extreme truth, speaking out against the epidemic of bullying that he, too, faced in high school. The honesty that he infuses into his 'Glee' character, Kurt, leaves you reeling."
-Jackie Collins, on Prince William and Kate Middleton: "It's the culmination of a nine-year relationship between a 28-year-old royal and a 29-year-old commoner, a beautiful and modern young woman and a handsome prince. It's no wonder the news media have wound themselves up into a mad frenzy! What's more universal than a love story? And this one rocks."
