Golden Gate Bridge Bus, Ferry Fares Increase
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Many bus and ferry riders who use the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District to get around, will see a fare hike starting on Friday.
District spokeswoman Mary Currie said some ferry riders will see an increase of five percent, but others won't see an increase at all.
"The fare for our regular riders, who typically use the Clipper card, those fares will remain unchanged," said Currie. "The cash fares on Sausalito are going up a dollar and the fares for Larkspur are going up five percent."

Currie said adult cash fares for all regional riders and for rides on buses within Marin County would also rise five percent annually.
"There's a number of different things we're doing to tighten our belts," Currie said.
The projected additional fare revenue generated from the five year program is expected to be $2.6 million.
The Golden Gate Bridge District is facing a nearly $90 million, five year budget deficit.
