BART Train Hits Tree In Hayward; Service Restored
HAYWARD (CBS SF)- A Bay Area Rapid Transit train struck a tree or tree branch near the Hayward station Thursday morning, resulting in major delays on the Fremont line, a BART employee said.
No injuries were reported, but the train was temporarily stopped on the tracks just outside the Hayward station, and service was disrupted in both directions, the employee said.
The tracks were cleared around noon, and service was returning to normal.
