BART Substation Fire Stops Service For Riders Between Hayward And Fremont
FREMONT (KCBS)-- BART is recovering from a substation fire that had stopped service for some riders on the Fremont line in the East Bay Tuesday afternoon.
BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby said the fire broke out around 12:10 p.m. affecting service between Hayward and Fremont. The system started to recover around 2 p.m.
AC Transit provided parallel bus service in the interim after BART had requested mutual aid from other transit agencies to fill the gap.
