Parking Fees Going Up At Hayward, Richmond, West Oakland BART Stations
OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Parking fees will rise at three East Bay BART stations starting Monday.
The daily parking rate will increase to $2 in Hayward, to $2.50 in Richmond, and $8 in West Oakland, BART officials said.
The hike is part of a program that evaluates parking lot usage every 6 months. Fees are raised 50 cents for lots that are full and are lowered for lost that are less than 95 percent full, according to BART officials.
There is a $3 cap for daily parking fees, except at West Oakland, the last East Bay stop before San Francisco.
The last time BART raised parking fees was on Dec. 7, when they went up to $3 per day at Millbrae, $2 per day at Concord and North Concord/Martinez and $1.50 per day at the Coliseum station in Oakland, officials said.
BART riders can use cash, Clipper cards or BART tickets to pay for parking.
