BART Asking For Feedback On Future Seats
UNION CITY (KCBS) - Commuters weighed in on everything from cushion comfort to arm rests to lumbar support at the Union City BART station Monday afternoon. The transit system put three "realistic seat prototypes" on display and solicited feedback from BART patrons in advance of the fleet overhaul expected to take place several years from now.
BART Solicits Feedback on Future Seats
"The old BART seats didn't have lumbar support," pointed out Aaron Weinstein, BART's head of marketing.
"Some people like the higher density, it feels softer to them. And some people feel the lower density is softer," he added.
Rider reaction did vary, with some complaining the prototypes were too hard, too soft or too bulky. Some raved about the comfort.
Another "seat lab" was scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Pittsburg/Bay Point station.
