Autodesk Expands In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Engineering and entertainment software publisher Autodesk announced Monday it would lease an additional 150,000 square feet of office space at One Market Plaza in San Francisco.
Despite sluggish economic growth, biotech and high tech companies have been scooping up San Francisco office space, said Todd Rufo, the city's director of business development.
Rufo said nearly 25 percent of the commercial space leased in San Francisco was occupied by technology companies.
KCBS' Barbara Taylor Reports:
Autodesk spokesman Greg Eden said the city's surroundings are a major factor in attracting top talent.
"It comes down to the creative vibe, innovative vibe and to be able to have a presence here and be able to attract the type of people that we have been able to attract. That's really where we see the value," he said.
Autodesk plans to add 200 jobs in San Francisco over the next five years.
