Authorities Shift Focus In Search For Sierra LaMar
MORGAN HILL (CBS / AP) -- Santa Clara County authorities will shift their search a bit as they continue to look for a Morgan Hill girl who disappeared nearly three weeks ago.
Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jose Cardoza said the department's search and rescue unit will focus on the neighboring communities of San Martin and Gilroy as they continue to look for 15-year-old Sierra LaMar, or for evidence that could explain her disappearance.
Sierra, a high school sophomore, was last seen by her family when she left for school on the morning of March 16. Investigators say she never made it to her bus stop.
Search teams later found her cellphone on the side of a roadway near her home, as well as her purse, which contained a folded pair of pants and a T-shirt.
