Authorities Find Suspect In North Carolina Cold Case In Susanville
SACRAMENTO (CBS / AP) -- A man has been arrested near Sacramento in the 2006 shooting death of a North Carolina man.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg's cold case homicide unit worked with authorities in Susanville, to arrest 33-year-old Danuel Shauntel Smith in the city about 180 miles north of Sacramento.
Thirty-one-year-old Ronal Bonilla-Bustillo was found lying on a Charlotte street on Nov. 17, 2006, and was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Smith is being held in Lassen County, awaiting an extradition hearing on whether he will be sent to Charlotte to face charges.
