At Least 8 Robbed At Gunpoint In 4-Hour Vallejo Crime Spree
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A string of eight armed robberies at homes and businesses in Vallejo Wednesday evening is suspected to have been committed by the same individuals, a police lieutenant said.
The first armed robbery Wednesday was reported around 5:30 p.m. and the last at 9:15 p.m., police Lt. Jeff Bassett said.
The first robbery was outside a residence in the 100 block of Olympic Street, Bassett said.
The next robbery occurred in the parking lot of Seafood City at 3495 Sonoma Blvd., then another in front of a residence in the 400 block of Louisiana Street, according to Bassett.
Shortly after that, someone was robbed outside a 7-11 store at 1208 Tennessee St., Bassett said.
Residents in the 1000 block of Pueblo Way and the 300 block of Sea Mist Drive were coming home from shopping and felt like they were followed and then confronted outside their homes when they got out of their car, Bassett said.
A delivery driver was accosted outside the closed Costco store at 198 Plaza Drive, Bassett said.
The final robbery was reported in the parking lot of the Pep Boys Auto Center at 128 Plaza Drive, according to Bassett.
Victims have given similar descriptions of the robbery suspects. The suspects have been described as a group of two or three black males armed with a revolver and wearing black hooded sweatshirts, Bassett said.
Two suspects in particular, one with darker skin and one with lighter skin, have come up in several descriptions.
Bassett said the darker skinned suspect was described as around 6 feet tall, 180 pounds and had a blue bandana covering his face. The lighter skinned suspect stood about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed about 150 pounds.
Police have not arrested any suspects but are sifting through the information to determine who may be responsible for the robberies, Bassett said.
