2 Dead, 1 Critically Hurt In Richmond Neighborhood Shooting
RICHMOND (CBS SF) --Two people are dead and a third is in critical condition after a shooting in Richmond Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 3100 block of Esmond Avenue, near 31st Street, at 3:47 p.m. There they found three men who had been shot next to a gray sedan with shattered driver-side window and a dented front bumper.
The surviving victim was transported to a trauma center by helicopter. An update on that individual's condition was not immediately available.
Suspect information was not immediately available Thursday evening but a spokesman for the Richmond police department said the shooting is under active investigation.
A Richmond police spokesman said official confirmation of the victims' names should be released on Friday
