Solano Co. Courthouse Closed Indefinitely

VALLEJO, Calif. (AP) _ The Solano County Courthouse is closed indefinitely as officials assess the damage caused by a firebomb thrown through a window in the criminal records room.

Vallejo fire officials said that a Molotov cocktail was thrown through a window early Wednesday morning, destroying files and forcing the court to move proceedings elsewhere.

Solano Superior Court executive officer Brian Taylor says scheduled criminal matters will move to courthouses in Fairfield and those already missed will be rescheduled.

A Solano County sheriff's spokesman said it is unknown whether copies of the burned files exist. Court officials say the building cannot be reopened until the damage is assessed, possibly by Tuesday.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
