Police Arrest SF Man Suspected Of Setting Fire To Chinatown Business
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fire that was set in the doorway of a commercial building in San Francisco's Chinatown earlier this month.
Michael De Vito, 56, of San Francisco, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of setting fire to a building, possession of flammable material with intent to set a building on fire and on a probation violation, according to the San Francisco police department.
The arson occurred during the overnight hours of Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 at a building in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue, police said.
Investigators are working to determine if De Vito is connected to other recent fires set in the Chinatown and North Beach neighborhoods, police said.
