Arrest Made In Disappearance Of Sierra LaMar
MORGAN HILL (CBS 5) – Investigators arrested a suspect Monday in connection with the disappearance of 15-year-old Sierra LaMar of Morgan Hill.
According to a statement from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department, 21-year-old Antolin Garcia-Torres of Morgan Hill was arrested Monday evening. Detectives believe he was responsible for LaMar's disappearance. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder and kidnapping.
Witnesses told CBS 5 that Garcia-Torres was arrested at the Safeway supermarket on Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill.
Authorities said Garcia-Torres is the owner of a red Volkswagen Jetta that was seized in connection to the case.
LaMar was last seen on the morning of March 16th, leaving for Ann Sobrato High School from her home. She did not attend school that day. Her purse and cellphone were found nearby soon after her disapperance.

Since her disappearance, volunteers have conducted numerous searches in Morgan Hill and surrounding areas to find clues in the case.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office planned to provide additional details about the arrest at a news conference Tuesday morning.
