Arizona Shooting Victim Has Bay Area Ties
TUCSON, Ariz. (KCBS) – One of the people that was critically wounded in Saturday's mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona is a former member of a Marin County school board.
58-year-old Susan Hileman lived in Tiburon for many years, where she was on the board of the Reed Union School District, which oversees three southern Marin elementary schools.
Her husband Bill said she's the one who brought 9-year-old Christina Green to meet her Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords.
"Susie and Christina were holding hands in line waiting to shake Gabby's hand," he said.

The little girl was shot and killed while Hileman was shot three times. Her husband said she's a survivor and she'll pull through, although she remains in a morphine haze.
"I hear her in her semi-conscious ramblings screaming out, Christina, Christina, let's get out of here," he said. "She keeps talking about the holding of hands and than the realization that she was on the ground and the bleeding was profuse."
Hileman said he's told his wife the truth about what happened to the little girl, and her parents do not blame Susan.
"The Greens very much remain in our prayers every minute," he said. "They are dear, sweet friends of ours who have been from the get go, trying their best to take care of Susie, despite the loss they personally suffered."
Hileman remains in serious, but stable condition.
