(RADIO.COM) - Apart from Justin Timberlake, the stakes for music hosts on Saturday Night Live are never terribly high. Since singers don't act or do comedy for a living, expectations are for them to be charming and game for anything.

However, now and then someone really knocks it out of the park—see Ariana Grande's triumph this weekend.

Not since Christina Aguilera pulled a perfect Samantha Jones out of her hat in 2004 has a pop diva given such a surprising, impression-driven performance as host.
