Apple CEO To Host Fundraiser For GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan
CUPERTINO (CBS SF) -- Despite Apple's decision to boycott the GOP convention, the company's CEO Tim Cook plans to host a fundraiser for Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
Politico has obtained an invite to the event. It will be a private breakfast co-hosted by Cook and Apple's Gary Wipfler June 28, in Menlo Park.
The money raised will benefit Ryan and help boost the campaigns to elect other House Republicans.
Apple cited presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump's comments about women, minorities and immigrants as the reason it won't provide financial or tech support to next month's convention in Cleveland.
