Antioch Man Fights Off Armed Intruder, Kills Him With His Own Gun
ANTIOCH (CBS SF) - Police have identified an alleged home intruder who was fatally shot by an Antioch resident during a reported break-in Monday night as 18-year-old Antioch resident Jeremiah Stovall.
Stovall allegedly rang the doorbell of a home in the 4800 block of Wexler Peak Way around 8:20 p.m. Monday.
When the 34-year-old man living there didn't answer the door immediately, the intruder—who was armed with a gun—kicked it down, police said.

A struggle ensued and the resident wrestled the gun away from Stovall and shot him multiple times, police said.
Stovall staggered onto the home's front lawn, where he was found dead a short time later, Lt. Diane Aguinaga said.
Meanwhile, the resident's 7-year-old son was sleeping in a back bedroom and did not see the shooting, she said.
Police said Tuesday that they have arrested a 19-year-old Richmond woman, whose name has not been released, in connection with the home invasion and are searching for a third suspect.
Both the woman and Stovall have a history of burglaries, according to Aguinaga.
The lieutenant said the man who shot Stovall has not been arrested and that police consider the incident a justifiable homicide committed in order to protect the victim's home and his son.
Police said Stovall did not know the resident who shot him, and that the 18-year-old may have chosen the house because it was on a corner, making it easier to enter and exit quickly.
Aguinaga said that Antioch police often see similar home burglaries where suspects ring the doorbell before entering, but that most occur during the day.
