Anti-Eviction Group Publishes List Of Tech Landlords With History Of Evictions In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — An anti-eviction group has compiled a list of San Francisco landlords from the tech industry that have a history of evicting tenants.
The Anti-Eviction Mapping Projects published the "Dirty Dozen 2.0 – TECH EVICTORS" list on their website last week amid the ongoing debate over whether or not the tech industry is to blame for San Francisco's currents housing crisis.

"We've been hearing a lot that it's not actually the tech industry responsible for the eviction epidemic, but it's landlords that are taking advantage of the money that tech industry is bringing into the city," said Erin McElroy, founder and director of the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project, adding, "We've actually been finding that, increasingly, people in the tech industry themselves are also the landlords who are evicting tenants."
But Daniel Bornstein, an attorney whose firm represents both tenants and landlords in real estate disputes, said that may be a rush to judgment and that property owners can't solely be responsible for ensuring affordable housing.
"It's a community responsibility and that really falls to our politicians to ensure that we have public policies in place to ensure greater housing affordability throughout the whole Bay Area," he said.
The list includes individuals that work for Google and other Bay Area tech companies.
