Another Hot, Spare The Air Day In Store
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- The heat wave blanketing the Bay Area has prompted a second straight Spare the Air alert for Sunday.
People who live in the East Bay saw temperatures well into the 90s on Saturday. Warmer weather is in store for Sunday. Some areas will have temperatures as high as 100 degrees.
Temperatures will be much cooler along the coast.
WHAT'S THE WEATHER IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?
KPIX 5's meteorologist Brian Hackney says things will cool off by Tuesday.
Meantime, auto exhaust combined with hot temperatures and light winds is expected to create unhealthy levels of the smog which can trigger throat irritation and respiratory issues, particularly for young children and seniors.
Bay Area residents are encouraged to carpool, bike, walk or take transit instead of driving alone.
