'American Idol' Final Three Shocker
LOS ANGELES (CBS) - After Wednesday night's "American Idol" Final 4, it wasn't obvious who the voters would send home. Lauren Alaina seemed to pick herself up after being in the bottom two last week, and Haley Reinhart came back with a great performance of "Trouble". James Durbin and Scotty McCreery were in their respective hard rock and country grooves.

But after 72 million votes and performances by judge and Aerosmither Steven Tyler, Lady Gaga, Jordan Sparks and Enrique Iglesias, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina were safe, and Santa Cruz native, James Durbin was eliminated from the competition.
Apparently the voters were more into the country pair, Scotty and Lauren, and Haley's bluesy vocals than James' high notes, electric stage performances and heavy metal rock leanings.
