Alvarado-Niles Road Shut Down As Union City Police Investigate Shooting
UNION CITY (CBS SF) -- The main crosstown thoroughfare in Union City remains closed Thursday evening while police investigate a shooting that took place about early Thursday evening.
Alvarado-Niles Road remained closed in both directions between Hop Ranch Road and Dowe Avenue as of 10 p.m., while police continued their investigation.
There were few details but police confirmed that a shooting took place at approximately 5:45 p.m. The shooting victim, an adult male, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
There were no further details about his condition Thursday evening.
Police have not released any information about a suspect or suspects.
Alvarado-Niles Road will remain closed until further notice, police said. The closure is about one mile west of the Union City Civic Center.
