Altamont Pass Big Rig Fire Jams Traffic On 580 Through Livermore
LIVERMORE (CBS SF) -- A big rig caught fire in the Altamont Pass Tuesday morning causing heavy traffic delays through Livermore.
The fire was reported at about 5:50 a.m. on westbound Interstate 580 approaching Grant Line Road and was extinguished about 40 minutes later.
CHP says that two westbound lanes of traffic are shut down as crews work to clear the charred truck with 3,400 pounds of cargo.

Traffic was jammed onto Interstate 205 with delays extending a mile and a half until Mountain House Parkway.
