Allegedly Armed Man Robs Bank Inside Brentwood Supermarket
BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- A bank inside a Brentwood supermarket was robbed Monday by a man who claimed to have a gun, police said.
Police responded to the incident based on an alarm that was triggered at 11:08 a.m. at a Raley's Supermarket on 2400 Sand Creek Road.
When they arrived, officers discovered that a Tri Counties Bank branch inside the supermarket had been robbed, police said.
A man apparently approached the bank's teller and handed over a note that demanded cash. He also claimed to have a gun, police said, though he never displayed one.
After the teller complied with his demands, he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Police describe the suspect as a white man in his late 30s to early 40s. The direction he fled in is unknown, police said.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Brentwood police at (925) 634-6911.
