Alameda Serial Burglar Caught On Video; Residents Warned To Close Windows
ALAMEDA (CBS SF) -- Alameda police were warning residents to keep their windows and doors closed and locked because a serial burglar is on the loose.
The man was caught on surveillance video and is wanted in a string of burglaries that began June 16.
The suspect has a distinct method. He cuts screens of open windows and climbs in.
Sunday, the suspect hit a home and sexually assaulted the resident.
Many residents in Alameda don't lock their doors.
"I hardly ever lock my apartment complex until late at night. It's always open," said resident Mike Davis. "I've left my door open at night. I've left my door open driving up to the grocery store."
Police said residents should be especially vigilant about locking their doors and windows.
