After Vote, SF Ethics Panel Won't Make Decision On Mirkarimi's Fate
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS / AP) -- After finding that San Francisco's suspended sheriff committed official misconduct after a domestic violence conviction, an influential city panel will not make a decision on whether he should keep his job.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the San Francisco Ethics Commission on Friday said it will not issue a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, which will ultimately decide Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi's fate sometime this fall.

Mirkarimi was suspended without pay in March after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment related to a New Year's Eve fight with his wife, who suffered a bruised arm.
Prosecutors originally charged Mirkarimi with misdemeanor domestic violence, and other charges.
The panel instead will write a summary of why it found Mirkarimi had committed official misconduct.
