About The Bay: Seniors Stay Sharp In Redwood City Softball League
REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) - A Peninsula softball league features a number of players a bit past their prime, but still very much young at heart.
Players on the Redwood City Señors Softball League include athletes in their 70s, 80s and even 90s.
It's a 50-and-up league but most players are of retirement age. The players crack jokes about having to test for steroids - though they realize they may actually be medically prescribed.
Adding even more depth to the rosters: a number of women - some also in their 70s - who play with the men - perhaps proving that softball diamonds can be a girl's best friend, too.
