About The Bay: A World Championship Baby
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Nine months ago, November 1st at 7:54 pm, the San Francisco Giants beat the Texas Rangers to win the World Series. Some couples who celebrated the old fashioned way may be getting lucky again Monday night.
Comcast is having a Giants World Championship Baby Contest, and whichever baby born closest to August 1st at 7:54 p.m. Pacific Time will be the winner. Comcast Marketing VP Tom Pellack said this goofball contest reached numbers he never expected.
KCBS' Mike Sugerman Reports About the Bay:
"We were hoping to get 20, 25 couples to enter this contest, and we had that in the first six to eight hours," Pellack said. "Now we're close to 400."
The World Championship Baby will receive $2,010, a brick inscribed with its name on it at AT&T Park, and an official birth certificate signed by the Giants.
You can hear Mike Sugerman's About the Bay reports on Mondays at 6:40am, 7:40am and 8:40am on KCBS All News 740AM and 106.9FM.
