'90210' Alum Takes On The Flash On 'Arrow'
(KBCW) - In late July, at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour, network President Mark Pedowitz announced plans for expanding the DC universe with possible spin-offs of 'Arrow.' Including the news of bringing "The Flash" back to television with an appearance on 'Arrow.'
This week, the network announced that the search is over with the casting of Grant Gustin. He will take on the role of Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash on upcoming episodes of 'Arrow.'
"I'm unbelievably excited," Gustin tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I've been a lifelong fan of DC Comics, so I can't be more honored and can't wait to get started."
You may recall Gustin during the fifth season of '90210' as Campbell Price, head of the Cronus Society. Gustin also guest starred in several episodes of 'Glee'.
With 'Arrow' production underway, Gustin clocks in for work by end of September in Vancouver. The 'Barry Allen' will start off as a forensic scientist and later gain his speedy powers for a possible spinoff series.
The second season of 'Arrow' premieres on Wednesday, October 9 on KBCW 44 Cable 12.
