80-Million Germs Exchanged In Average 10-Second Kiss
SAN FRANCISCO (KBCW) -- Locking lips with your sweetie can result in a pretty nasty exchange of germs, according to new research.
Dutch scientists measured how many microbes were exchanged when people kissed, and in just ten seconds couples transferred 80-million bacteria on average from person to person.
The mouth is home to 700 different kinds of bacteria, and the more couples kiss the more similar their saliva becomes.
The study was published in an American scientific journal.
