8 Arrested In Emeryville Child Prostitution Raid
EMERYVILLE (KCBS) - Eight people have been arrested at an Emeryville hotel in an operation targeting child prostitution, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday.
The arrests during a Dec. 6 undercover raid by the Alameda County Vice Enforcement Team included two women suspected of misdemeanor prostitution, a woman suspected of bringing a prostitute to the hotel, two men suspected of soliciting prostitution, and a man accused of felony pimping.
Two 15-year-olds also taken into custody were provided with medical treatment and counseling by the organization Bay Area Women Against Rape, authorities said.
The purpose of the raid was to rescue children being used as prostitutes and to arrest adult prostitutes, pimps and johns.
Police did not disclose the address of the hotel where the raid took place.
